The 16th Congress of Vietnam National Heart Association themed “Cardiovascular in the New Era: Personalizing treatments of Complex Diseases” will be held from 5th-7th Oct 2018 at International Convention Center Ariyana, Da Nang. The congress will address various immerging topics with diverse contents along with presentations of research reports from leading Vietnam & international professors.
In the conference, idsMED Vietnam and Philips will corporate with Vietnam National Heart Association to organize programs for cardiologists. Accordingly, Oct 5th at 14:00, precongress workshop will be conducted with the theme “Detect early and evaluate comprehensively some cardiovascular disorders by echocardiography (collaborated with Vietnam Society of Echocardiography and American Society of Echocardiography)”. In 5th Oct, Satellite Workshop: “Breakthroughs in Real time 3D Cardiac Ultrasound” will start at 16h45. Cardiologists will have a change to gain more insight on Clinical benefits in real-time 3D echocardiography and The HeartModel automatic feature in examining left ventricular and left atrium functions. The workshop honors to welcome Guest audience A/Prof Ph.D Poh Kian Keong, Department of Cardiology, NUHCS.
Associate Professor Poh Kian Keong is presently a Senior Consultant, Director of Postgraduate Education and Clinical Director of Research at the Department of Cardiology, NUHCS.
He is certified by the National Board of Echocardiography (USA).
A/Prof Poh graduated with medical degrees from Cambridge University, UK, obtained his Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine from the National University of Singapore. |

In the morning of 6th Oct, Forum of Vietnamese Society of Echocardiography to update on cardiac imaging technologies for evaluating cardiac remodeling and dysfunction as well as potential clinical applications will be presented by A/Prof.James Kirkpatrick (University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle, WA, USA), Ph.D.Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai (Viet Nam National Heart Institute, Hanoi), A/Prof. Tiffany Chen (Heart & Vascular Institute, UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, PA, USA) và Dr. Vi Dang Nguyen (University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA).
In the same day, workshop “Diagnosis of prenatal cardiovascular disease by cardiac Doppler echocardiography” will provide basic understanding to detect and evaluate prenatal cardiac problems by Doppler echocardiography.
Especially, idsMED Viet Nam & Philips along with Vietnam Cardiology and Heart Association will continue organizing Continuing medical training and granted Certificates (standardized by the Ministry of Health’s procedure) for practitioners. The training courses include: CME Basic Course on Practical Echocardiography; CME Course of "Practical echocardiography in management of mitral valvopathies"; CME Course of "Practical echocardiography in management of aortic valvopathies".
