The event concluded with a lively dinner, team activities, and a musical performance, celebrating the team’s cohesiveness and dedication to excellence.
On 30 May 2024, idsMED Singapore hosted its Annual Country Meeting (ACM) at the Furama RiverFront Hotel Singapore. The event lasted an entire day, with the Management Team and Department Heads actively participating in an intensive workshop. Later in the evening, the entire idsMED Singapore team adjourned to a delightful dinner, furthering an opportunity for bonding and camaraderie.
During his opening address, Mr. Ben Chang, Group CEO and Founding Partner, acknowledged Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines for excelling in the past Financial Year. He shared more about the Country Budget Plan Imperatives (BPIs) which he introduced earlier in his March and April CEO Buzz. He urged that all idsMED staff come together as one idsMED and “TAKE EXECUTION OWNERSHIP OF BPIs TO EXCEL AND EXCEED BUDGET FY2025”.
Ben explained that from FY2021 onwards, based on a 4-year perspective, it had been a difficult period for idsMED. However, idsMED has shown great perseverance and has transformed into what it is today, putting forth the determination to excel and dominate in the space of medical equipment distribution. In addition to growing as a company, he reiterated the importance of building value in oneself as an individual when working in idsMED.
When asked about the one quality he wished that all employees in idsMED had, he responded with “Care” and “Generosity”, defining that the significant difference between healthcare and other industries is the care that was brought forward when executing the work we do. Aptly, our core values highlight “Care” as one value that means “conscientiously working for the well-being, safety and health of people with empathy and affection.”
The morning session kickstarted with Mr. Shrikanth Sankar, Managing Director & SVP for Singapore, sharing his reflections on the key takeaways from Singapore’s performance for FY2024, the expectations for Budget FY2025, and the top ten Imperatives for the Singapore team. He reiterated the focus on Beating Budget FY2025 by placing customers at the centre of what we do and the seamless execution in delivering solutions for customers. He also illustrated the various community engagements that were implemented, further underscoring that healthcare is about people caring for people. He reminded everyone to come together as a team and reach our goals with a grow-to-win mindset.
After the tea break, the session continued with the OPC Leads and Department Heads, Mr. Michael Pan, Director – Medical Solutions; Ms. Eileen Lim, Senior Manager – Imaging, Dental & Clinics; Ms. Eva Ng, Manager – Field Sales and Service; and Ms. Jess Kong, Manager – Medical Aesthetics, sharing valuable insights gained from the success stories as well as the key imperatives for their respective areas. Mr. Shrikanth Sankar shared about the Intermediate Long-Term Care (ILTC) unit on behalf of Mr. Chris Tan, Manager II – Sales.
After a short break, Ms. Law Lay Pheng, Director – Medical Specialty Care, resumed the workshop together with Mr. Edward Poon, Senior Manager – Operation & RFM; and Mr. Ho Choon Leong, Senior Manager – Engineering. Each shared the conversion of challenges into opportunities and their expert strategies to win in their respective areas of responsibility.
To conclude the workshop, Mr. Rufi Susanto, idsMED Group President and Acting Managing Director for Vietnam, took reference from a football season. According to Rufi, whenever a football season ends, everything starts afresh. Therefore, there is a need to focus even after winning the season, to come back even stronger and achieve higher standards. He advised everyone to beat the budget upwards and encouraged the team to share their strategies with one another. He reiterated that everyone in the company plays a significant role in helping customers increase their efficacy and in turn save lives.
He observed that small pockets of teamwork are evident around the office but would benefit the team immensely if they become a tenacious team, which calls for cohesive collaboration as a caring unit. In conclusion, everyone was reminded to focus on their contributions to help achieve the imperatives and the values displayed as a team and as a whole company to create a lasting impact in the healthcare industry.
As the afternoon progressed, the team bonding activities further affirmed the importance of team cohesion whilst working zealously towards a common goal and contributing each effort collectively as a unified team towards the targeted results.
Towards the evening, the rest of the Singapore colleagues began to arrive for a night of bonding over a delightful dinner and several fun activities covering competitions and a scavenger hunt, raising everyone’s spirits to the highest note.
Apart from the ACM’s usual agenda, Ms. Ashley Lim, Marketing Communications serenaded the audience with three popular songs, while strumming her guitar. In appreciation for her performance, she was presented with a bouquet of flowers on stage by Mr. Muhammad Ata, SVP-SFO and Ms. Sarah Chen of Marketing Communications.
The night ended with a Mass Dance and a Disco Draw where three lucky winners walked away with attractive prizes presented by Mr. Rufi Susanto.
As one big family, the idsMED Singapore members have displayed cohesiveness and their lively vibes brought joy and merriment to the ACM 2024 event!
