Most year ends would equal to slower work rates, a slow-down in productivity, and a lot of holiday planning and preparations with families and friends. That is the case for a lot of employees in most companies. But here at idsMED, there is something different. Our commitment to work and giving solutions to our customers have always been put in the forefront and they resonate with the company’s brand promise, “We Care with a HEART Because Your Life Matters”.
As a dedicated service engineer, Didik Ariyadi of idsMED Bandung branch, has always given his best in all his work serving the idsMED customers as well as helping his fellow colleagues. However, never had he imagined what December of 2017 had in store for him, and what would he achieved during the month. The term ‘closing the year with a bang’ would perfectly describe Aryadi’s hard work this year, who has been with idsMED from the early days – the Fondaco days. Why? because the 2017 December performance report recorded Aryadi as the only idsMED Indonesia’s service engineer with the most working hours: 14.83 hours per day. That, ladies and gentlemen, is truly a great achievement during the year end period.
Aryadi’s 14.83 hours per day in December consisted of numerous activities at the Al-Ihsan Hospital in Bandung: 40 units of TruPort pendant systems, 12 units of GE patient monitors, 2 units of Belimed CSSDs, and 3 units of JW Medical Infant warmers, not to mention the pre-installation processes and which include site surveys and contractor appointment. All of which are done by Aryadi himself.
Located in the south of Bandung, the hospital is one of the most difficult places to reach from downtown Bandung. And with the monsoon season just started in the previous month, the difficulty of reaching the hospital became a lot more extreme. Roads to the hospital are well known for their customary floods during the rainy seasons. So, to save time and energy, quite often, Aryadi spent his days and nights – AND overnights – at the Al Ihsan Hospital, leaving his family for days to do his work. He slept on TruPort pendant boxes at nights and brought along a rice cooker from home to cook the rice for his dinner, and share his food with the contractors and other workers. All these difficulties did not break his spirit in delivering the best service to his customer. In fact, they earn him respect from the other colleagues.
“The work hours were tough. I had to work seven days a week for weeks not to mention staying most nights at the hospital and left my wife at home because of the weather”, said Aryadi.
“It was hard but I always kept a positive mindset, went along with the process and not let the obstacles blocked my view to achieve the goals that are set. So long as you do good, you will be fine. I hope that all the hard work that I did will be beneficial for others”, he said in an interview. “Just don’t let me start with the ghost stories from my time at the hospital, OK (chuckles)?”, he added.
