Indonesia Healthcare Forum (IndoHCF), in collaboration with the Indonesian Health Community (KOSEINDO) will be holding a bicycle tour titled “IndoHCF-KOSEINDO Tour De’Sabang-Jakarta 3000K Indonesia Sehat”. Around 30 cyclists from KOSEINDO will be participating in the tour which starts on Saturday, 14 October 2017 from KM0 in Sabang, Aceh.
The tour is held in support of the “Indonesia Sehat” (Healthy Indonesia) program initiated by the Ministry of Health of Indonesia. “This is the first ever Sabang to Jakarta bicycle tour in conjunction with our support for the National Health Day,” Brigjen TNI. Dr. dr. Supriyantoro, Sp.P, MARS, Head of IndoHCF and KOSEINDO said on Sunday (8/10/2017) during the final preparation meeting in Cilandak Marine Hospital, Jakarta.
The IndoHCF-KOSEINDO Tour De’Sabang 3000K aims to promote healthy living and lifestyle through bike-riding while introducing the cultural diversity of the local communities and the abundance of natural resources that Indonesia has from Sabang to Jakarta. “Cyclists will visit community health centers (Puskesmas) and local hospitals as different stages in the tour and will be handing out health promotion materials as well aid packages to support local health programs”, said Supriyantoro. KOSEINDO will also take this opportunity to conduct the inaugurations of its local branches.
The tour route is set into 20 stages which include 3 Group Stages with a total estimated travel time of 3 weeks. Group Stage A covers Sabang-Tebing Tinggi (935,7 KM), Group Stage B covers Tebing Tinggi-Jambi (1,104.7 KM) and the final Group Stage C covers Jambi-Jakarta (880,7 KM). Cyclists are expected to reach Jakarta at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout, on National Health Day, 12 November 2017.
The tour is a collaborative effort from various stakeholders in the healthcare industry, including the Ministry of Health, The National Coordinating Agency of Planned Family (BKKBN), The Indonesian Army Health Agency, local hospitals and regulators.
IndoHCF, the main sponsor of the event, is an independent non-profit organization fully supported by idsMED Indonesia with an aim to facilitate healthcare education and collaboration among stakeholders in the healthcare industry in Indonesia.
