On 20 October 2024, HCA Hospice held its annual Walk With Me Charity Walkathon, a heartwarming event dedicated to honouring and supporting patients under palliative care. This year, the event once again showcased the unwavering commitment of HCA to this noble cause, demonstrating their passion and dedication to improving the lives of those in need.
A spirited group of 24 employees from idsMED Singapore gathered at Marina Barrage on that Sunday morning, ready to participate in the 6 km walk. It was heartening to see a mix of employees, Managers and Directors – all from different departments, united by a shared mission to make a difference in the lives of others. The enthusiasm was palpable, as participants came together not just to walk but also to celebrate the spirit of community and compassion.
In addition to participating in the walkathon, idsMED Singapore also proudly sponsored the event through generous contributions. The company first gave $468 in the form of participation fees, and subsequently donated $2,000 in cash, alongside approximately $1,700 worth of donations in-kind, consisting of Aniosgel 85 NPC disinfectant hand gel and Sunstar GUM toothbrushes. These donations were aimed at providing practical support to patients and families relying on palliative care services.
The event served as a multifaceted experience, combining the joy and benefits of physical activity with the fulfilment of supporting a meaningful cause. Employees enjoyed the fresh air and scenic views along the route, taking the opportunity to bond with one another outside the usual work environment. Conversations flowed casually, reinforcing connections among colleagues and fostering a sense of camaraderie that extended beyond the office.
As the walk concluded, participants gathered for the much-anticipated lucky draw, adding an element of fun to the day’s activities. Employees from idsMED Singapore reconvened and laid out all their bib numbers on a bench, as they stood around and looked out for any numbers that might be called during the lucky draw. To everyone’s excitement, one employee was a lucky winner who won a bundle of Clarins cosmetic products and a bottle of Eden Cacharel perfume—truly a fun way to end the event. The combination of exercise, engagement, and entertainment left everyone feeling uplifted and inspired, with a renewed sense of purpose in supporting the cause.
