In a newly formed partnership with Blossom Seeds Limited, idsMED Singapore supported their annual Ready Set GOLD! Charity Walk. A Singaporean non-profit organisation, Blossom Seeds provides seniors with various opportunities to stay active. This annual charity walk reinforces the organisation’s mission of promoting active ageing among seniors.
The participation and support from idsMED Singapore were spearheaded by the Integrated Long-Term Care (ILTC) team, underscoring their commitment to the partnership with Blossom Seeds, and their dedication to giving back to the community.
On 10 September 2023, the charity walk kicked off at 21 Canberra Link and concluded at 105 Canberra Street, covering a distance of 1.5 km. The idsMED Singapore team, comprising members from the ILTC and Engineering Support teams, along with Managing Director and Senior Vice President, Shrikanth Sankar, proudly represented the company. They were among the 240 participants, including other partners and volunteers, who participated in the event. The occasion was further graced by the presence of Mr. Ong Ye Kung, Singapore’s Minister of Health, who joined as the Guest of Honour and walked alongside the participants.
After finishing the walk, participants had the opportunity to enjoy a carnival at 105 Canberra Street. This carnival featured a range of exciting activities organised by different supporting partners, including idsMED Singapore. The program included captivating performances, fun-filled activities, and engaging interactive booths that added to the enjoyment of all attendees.
At the idsMED booth, the ILTC Team introduced two innovative products to the community: Silverfit 3D and PARO.
SilverFit 3D is a virtual therapy system designed for training gross motor skills and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) tasks during rehabilitation sessions. Meanwhile, the PARO serves as a replacement alternative to live animals in animal therapy within healthcare institutions. This robotic companion is equipped with five sensors: tactile, light, auditory, temperature, and posture sensors – enabling it to interact with people and the surrounding environment intelligently.
Participants at the event had the chance to engage with these systems firsthand, gaining valuable hands-on experience. Furthermore, they had the opportunity to delve deeper into the world of innovative healthcare products in the market, enhancing their understanding of these cutting-edge offerings.
