The Asia Pacific Consortium on Osteoporosis (APCO), constituting key medical opinion leaders from 19 countries, aims to develop tangible solutions to challenges in osteoporosis management and fracture prevention in the region.
Hosted by APCO, the APCO Singapore Osteoporosis and Other Metabolic Bone Disorders Summit (APCO SOOMBODS) 2024 integrated the IOF ISCD Osteoporosis Essentials (OE) Course and the Metabolic Bone Disorders Symposium (Main Congress). idsMED Singapore, in collaboration with GE HealthCare participated in the Main Congress held at Novotel Singapore on Stevens from 17 - 19 May 2024.
At the summit, GE Healthcare showcased the Advanced BMD System at their booth, providing information on bone and metabolic health of individuals including sarcopenia status. This cutting-edge technology aligns with APCO’s mission in assessing bone density, fracture risk, metabolic health, paediatric development, and sarcopenia, giving medical practitioners a clear view inside the body.
The Summit offers medical practitioners the opportunity to connect with leading osteoporosis experts and peers, participate in scientific sessions, and gain insights into advanced musculoskeletal imaging, artificial intelligence, and machine learning in osteoporosis.
The highlight of the Summit was the keynote lecture by Prof Jean-Yves Reginster, President-ESCEO and Secretary General-International Osteoporosis Foundation. Additionally, there were four plenary lectures delivered by the following internationally acclaimed bone health specialists:
