Following the media launch for Bagan Specialist Centre in May for having implemented the first fully automated Early warning system in APAC region, Penang Adventist Hospital (PAH) has marked another milestone in general care area healthcare delivery standards. On 23rd of October 2018, PAH has launched their 214-bedded Philips Intellivue Guardian Solution Automated Early Warning Scoring System, making PAH the largest installation of this system in the APAC region. This is a big step forward for the Malaysian healthcare scene, especially as PAH is one of the main hospital in Malaysia who caters to Medical Tourism patients.
The Media launch started off with addresses from the Hospital COO Dr Thomas Thean, followed by Mr Bidur Dhaul, Senior Director, Business Head of Monitoring Analytics & Therapeutic Care, Philips. A short video of EWS was also played to let the guests further understand its clinical significance and benefit. Then, the Chief minister of Penang, YAB Chow Kon Yeow gave a short speech and officiated the launch of the system by logging into a mobility client of the system. The Chief minister and guests were all then brought to one of the wards to have a look at the system features and capability. Kudos to the staff nurses who were involved in this solution demo and also the rest of the ward staff for accommodating the guests.
With this media launch, both PAH and also us, in idsMED hopes that the public and other hospitals recognize the general care area (wards) risks and new technology now available in the market to assist in the challenges healthcare providers face. We strongly believe that moving by our motto “we care with a heart”, idsMED will be able to provide suitable healthcare solutions to elevate healthcare quality and ultimately, to improve quality of life.
