Food, Angpaos, Lion Dance and Yee Sang; all these sweet and loud things is what makes the best celebration for this Chinese New Year here at idsMED Malaysia on 7th February 2020 (Friday). In accordance to Chinese zodiac, 2020 is the year of the Rat, which symbolises wealth and surplus, and cleverness and quick thinking for those born in this year.
As it is a tradition and culture, idsMED Malaysia commemorated this Chinese New Year 2020 by blessing our Malaysian Headquarters with a Lion Dance troupe and launched the celebration in front of the office by lighting up a bunch of firecrackers and loudly declaring a fortunate year with lots of shouts of “ONG AH”. The Lion Dancers went around the Ground to 2nd Floor of the idsMED office to bless the place and picking up angpaos and oranges from the tables of our colleagues. The event continued with our colleagues gathering at the Showroom for the Yee Sang ceremony; it is a traditional dish which symbolises good luck, prosperity, and health. Once we have done our exclamations of “Loh Hey” (toss high) during the ceremony, which signifies to the wishing of abundance of luck and happiness, Dato’ Dr. Adzuan Rahman, Senior Vice President & Managing Director of Malaysia, gave a moving speech and wished us all the best for this 2020 to be an auspicious year to all of idsMED Malaysia’s and idsMED Group’s employees. Then the speech was closed by an angpao giving ceremony where, Dato’ Dr. Adzuan generously gave out red envelopes to our fellow colleagues at idsMED Malaysia. We also had a few activities and games after the lunch, where our colleagues needed to do Chinese Calligraphy and to list down the Chinese Zodiacs in order of the Lunar Calendar. It was indeed a fun day.
idsMED Malaysia wishes you Gong Xi Fa Cai and may you have a WOWsome year ahead!
