idsMED Indonesia welcomed a group of very special guests on Monday and Tuesday, 27th & 28th of November 2017. Dr Victor Fung, Chairman of the Fung Group; and Dr. William Fung, Managing Director of the group visited Indonesia along with 12 Board members of IDS Medical Holdings (IMH) and idsMED Group, including our CEO, Ben Chang, Raymond Chong, Tommy Lui, Stewart Kwok, Chuah Keng Yeong, Tomy Kwong, Professor Tsui Lap Chee, Martin Angus, Monica Tsui, Bill Flanz, Jason Yeung, and Henrik Pedersen. The IMH Board members arrived on Monday 27 November 2017, and were greeted with a group of idsMED staffs who welcomed them at the Jakarta International Airport and accompanied them to the Fairmont Hotel, Senayan, where they stayed. Upon arrival at the hotel, the Board Members were welcomed by the idsMED Senior Leadership Team at the Sky Suite Lounge – a private business lounge – located on the 21st floor of the Fairmont Hotel and proceed with their afternoon meeting session. On the evening of the 27th, the Board members, along with Fung Group Senior Management, were treated to a lovely dinner at Tugu Kunstring Paleis, one of Jakarta’s finest restaurants and center of art and history exhibitions. The restaurant was originally built as a center to house the Fine Arts Circle of the Dutch East Indies (Nederlandsch-Indische Kunstkring of the Dutch East Indies) and was opened on the 17 April 1914. It featured various creative arts between 1934 and 1939 as well as world-class masterpieces of Vincent van Gogh,Pablo Picasso, Paul Gauguin, MarcChagall and the likes. The building was reopened in April 2013 under the name Tugu Kunstring Paleis, and brought back to life by Tugu Hotels & Restaurants Group, one of Indonesia’s biggest hotel and restaurant chains. The Board members and guests had a wonderful time during the evening, and could be seen around the art gallery and shop ready to purchase one or two of the exhibits. The second day began with the Opening Ceremony of the idsMED Indonesia Head Office at Wisma 76, Jakarta. Rufi Susanto, Ben Chang, and Dr. Victor Fung delivered welcome speeches to open the ceremony and was followed by the traditional flower ribbon-cutting and Tumpeng (yellow rice) cutting in front of the entire idsMED Jakarta staff. Coincidentally, 28th of November also marks Fung Group’s 111 Anniversary, which made the Board member visit and the opening ceremony even more grandeur and special. Following the ceremony, the idsMED Jakarta team then took the Board members to a group office tour of the newly renovated office on the 22nd and 17th Floors. The day ended with another nice and lovely dinner for the Board Members at the Historisch Huis (Heritage House – or Rumah Heritage in Indonesian), one of the historic and atmospheric house- turned-into a private fine dining experience. We also invited a very special guest during the evening, Mari Elka Pangestu – the former Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, to share some insights on the Indonesian and regional economies as well as the prospects of investments within the ASEAN region. The night was made more beautiful, as the guests were also serenaded by the beautiful voice of our own Audrine Piris, from the Human Resources & General Affairs Department, who sang the 90’s hits “Hero” by Mariah Carey.
