On October 29th, Mayapada Hospital in Lebak Bulus, Jakarta had an unfortunate incident. A fire caused by an electrical short circuit burned one of the most important rooms on the 5th floor. Fortunately, there were no victims and the firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly. However, the water was seeping into the floor below, including the operating rooms. The water produced puddles that made the room dirty and damaged some medical equipment. The situation came under immediate attention from the BOD of Mayapada and they knew a decision had to be made quickly.
After learning about the incident, idsMED Indonesia immediately responded by providing new medical equipment for Mayapada Hospital. As we realized that these medical tools can be the difference between life and death, we knew that we must act immediately. It is also a form of our commitment to serve our partners and to help people’s life. We committed to providing new medical equipment within 7 days - a procedure that usually takes weeks or months.
Pak Johan, Sales Manager at idsMED Indonesia, explained that even though it was not easy to do, idsMED wanted to put our promise and commitment to action when it was needed the most. He also added that idsMED is always keen to take on such challenges at work. It means we know our capability to solve the problem immediately by acknowledging the products’ availability at first.
Some of the equipment that needed repair were:
- 2 pendants, 2 lamps with camera, 2 operation table in Operation Room No. 7
- All units in Operation Room No. 3
- Lamps in Operation Room No. 5
As for the rest of the equipment, the idsMED team only cleaned and did minor repairments. Within 7 days, the team checked all the maintenance, assessment and installation. Now, the team is waiting for the finishing touch. Hopefully, the new tools can be activated soon by the medical staff at Mayapada Hospital and help save more lives.
