On 7 December 2016, A magnitude 6.5 earthquake that rocked Indonesia’s island of Sumatra this week has left tens of thousands homeless. The quake killed more than 100 people and injured hundreds people, damaging more than 11,000 buildings and displacing more than 45,000 people in the northern province of Aceh, according to the country’s National Disaster Mitigation Agency.
The basic needs and emergency supplies for refugees must be met during the evacuation. The biggest concern was illness and injuries that come in the aftermath of the destructive quake.
As part of our responsibility to the community, idsMED Indonesia through its CSR, Indonesia Healthcare Forum (indoHCF), has pledged to donate close to 300 items of healthcare consumables for surgical and critical care needs. The donation was distributed to the people of Aceh through Indonesian National Army of Health Center headquartered in Cilangkap, East Jakarta.
Present during the handover was Dr. dr. Supriyantoro Sp.P, MARS as a chairman of Indonesia Healthcare Forum, Major General TNI dr. Ben Yura Rimba, MARS as a representation of National Army of Health Center, Mr. Tjandra Mihardja director of idsMED Indonesia.
We do hope the aids can help to ease the burden of the injured victims in Aceh. And hopefully through this activity, idsMED can always develop the “Care” value within the company to spread it to outside world. Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends and families in Aceh Province.
