The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is a cherished tradition celebrated across many cultures, and Singapore is no exception. This vibrant festival typically falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, marking the middle of the autumn season. Often celebrated with family reunions, lantern displays, and the sharing of mooncakes, the festival symbolises unity and completeness.
In celebration of this occasion, the idsMED Singapore HR Team organised a delightful teatime session on 17 September 2024. A generous spread of mooncakes, pomelos and fragrant teas awaited the employees that attended. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as employees gathered at the idsMED Lounge – drawn by the delectable treats that make this festival special.
Among everything prepared, the mooncakes were truly the highlight of the afternoon. A generous array was available, including Halal-certified options, for employees to enjoy. This included the traditional Cantonese lotus mooncakes, Teochew pastry mooncakes and an assortment of snow skin mooncakes, with popular flavours like durian and more creative varieties such as Popping Candy, Chrysanthemum, Lime and Elderflower, and Cream Cheese Apple.
An external vendor was also invited to set up a stall selling prawn and fish crackers, where employees were able to enjoy special bundle prices. Joyous chatter and laughter filled the air as colleagues bonded over the teatime refreshments and shared conversations, reinforcing a sense of community within the idsMED Singapore office, and reminding everyone of the values of unity and gratitude that are held dear during this occasion.
To further elevate the festivities, the HR Team hosted a lantern painting contest, allowing employees to showcase their creativity. The competition was lively, and it was exciting to see the variety of artistic ideas on their lanterns. Once completed, the lanterns were then hung up as decoration in the idsMED Lounge. When teatime ended and the crowd cleared out of the lounge, idsMED Singapore’s Managing Director, Mr. Shrikanth Sankar, served as the esteemed judge and carefully evaluated each design as he toured the Lounge. The top three artists were then awarded special boxes of rice crackers for their impressive and standout designs.
In closing, heartfelt gratitude is extended to everyone who attended and helped in making the event memorable. A special thanks go to the HR Team for their hard work and dedication in planning this event. As we honour this rich cultural heritage, let’s continue to embrace creativity and unity together!
