On the evening of 14 December 2023, idsMED Singapore hosted a Christmas Dinner Party at Brewerkz Indoor Stadium. The evening was filled with joy, good food, and many fun activities, creating a wonderful atmosphere in the company of amazing colleagues.
The excitement leading up to the event was palpable in the two weeks preceding the dinner when employees learned that the dinner party included a Gift Exchange and Best Dressed Competition aligning with the theme, “Christmas by the Countryside”. Eagerly, everyone began searching for suitable gifts and clothing.
On the day of the event, as work concluded, all employees made their way to Brewerkz, eager for the festivities. Upon arrival, each attendee who registered received a welcome gift — CapitaLand e-vouchers.
As everyone settled down in their seats, Mr. Shrikanth Sankar, Managing Director of Singapore and SVP, delivered an opening speech, followed by Mr. Gerald Tan, EVP of Strategic Business Projects and Partnerships. The ceremonial turkey-cutting by both leaders then officially marked the commencement of the dinner.
The delectable spread featured wild mushroom aglio olio, truffle mac and cheese, roasted turkey, in-house tiramisu, and more. Dishes catered for our Muslim colleagues were equally enticing with Thai pineapple fried rice, Thai grilled pandan chicken, chap chye, and cereal prawns. The extensive beverage selection, which included soft drinks, craft beers, and red and white wines, was also noteworthy. The menu was well-received, with many who went back for seconds.
Throughout the evening, various activities were interspersed with staggered intermissions. The Lucky Draw of 20 prizes was spread over three segments. The first segment for the 20th to 11th place was awarded by Mr. Srikant Lal, Managing Director of Group BSC, the second segment for 10th to 4th place was awarded by Mr. Gerald Tan, while the top 3 prizes were awarded by Mr. Shrikanth Sankar. Prizes worth up to $500 vouchers from Takashimaya and DFI Retail Group, were generously sponsored by key individuals, namely:
1. Mr. Ben Chang – Group CEO
2. Mr. Rufi Susanto – Group President
3. Mr. Shrikanth Sankar – Managing Director of Singapore
4. Mr. Srikant Lal – Managing Director of Group BSC
5. Mr. Gerald Tan – Executive VP of Strategic Business Projects & Partnerships
6. Mr. Muhammad Ata – Senior VP of SFO Unit
7. Ms. Law Lay Pheng – Director of Medical Specialty Care
8. Ms. Sally Ng – Principal Consulting Partner
Their generous contributions were well appreciated by everyone.
Following the Lucky Draw, the highly anticipated Gift Exchange began. Each attendee was given a queue number when they arrived at the venue, and their respective gifts were placed at a common gift table. The queue number represented the order in which each person could choose their gift from the gift table. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as everyone took turns collecting their gifts and opening them together with colleagues back at their tables.
Additional activities included a word search puzzle prepared by the HR Team, with the aim of finding 20 words related to idsMED. The competition got intense, but it was heart-warming to see everyone being so engaged and displaying teamwork as they worked together to solve the puzzle. The second game, “Snowman Shake”, brought a lively element as the participants enthusiastically jumped up and down, and vigorously shook their bodies to get ping-pong balls out of a box that was tied around their waists. It was great fun watching the participants give their all and look a little goofy while doing so.
Finally, the Best Dressed Contest showcased four winners, each dressed in unique styles according to their interpretation of “Countryside”, donning items such as country-style hats, boots, and clothing with chequered patterns. Congratulations to the winners for their stylish and on-theme outfits!
The event concluded with a closing speech made by Mr. Srikant Lal, Managing Director of Group BSC. As the night drew to a close, everyone gradually began making their way home, while a few chose to stay behind for further bonding over drinks and conversations.
Overall, the Christmas Dinner Party was a fantastic night of relaxation and camaraderie, fostering connections among colleagues across departments. A big thank you to the HR Team for organising this fantastic event. Much appreciation also goes to the IT Team who provided technical support, the Marketing Communications Team who assisted in designing the event materials, and Executive Secretary Sharon Sim who assisted in preparing the prizes for the Lucky Draw.
