Mechanical ventilation is one of the key techniques of the intensive care department, helping to save lives for many patients. Nowadays, ventilators have improved function day by day and many medical centers are equipped with the modern ventilators. However, the implementation is still facing many difficulties because the knowledge of mechanical ventilation is not trained at universities.
In order to improve the basic knowledge, update knowledge and improve skills in using breathing machines, in the afternoon of December 26th, Bac Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital with idsMED Vietnam and Medtronic held the workshop "Update information and instructions for operating ventilators".
Dr. Dao Khac Hung, Director of Bac Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital shared: “I have been working for 20 years in the ventilator field, I realize that if we don’t update and operate on the ventilator, we will not only be unable to use the ventilator but will also be able to put patients in to danger. Today’s workshop was very useful, we invited the doctors related to ventilators, as well as experts from idsMED and Medtronic to this workshop to share about ventilation and how to operate it”.
The workshop focused on presenting and discussing the basic structure of the ventilator, how to use the basic mechanical ventilation methods, the principle of setting up the initial ventilator for diseases, care for patients on mechanical ventilators… Training courses with the attendance of the leading experts are a valuable opportunity for doctors and nurses to update their knowledge and contribute to improving the quality of medical care.
