The National Library Board (NLB) organised the Tech Play Showcase from 29 February to 1 March 2024 at The Plaza, National Library Building. The exhibition introduced the public to technology through playful and immersive exploration of robotics, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and more. The Tech Bazaar encourages seniors to experience and discover some of the newest and emerging technologies while educating the public on technologies that can be used in the daily lives of seniors within the community.
As part of a community outreach programme and in collaboration with the NLB, idsMED Singapore exhibited a virtual rehabilitation system, the SilverFit 3D.
SilverFit 3D is a virtual therapy system designed for training gross motor skills and activities of daily living (ADL) tasks during rehabilitation sessions. The exercises are performed as games that can provide direct positive feedback which motivates the user to push their boundaries. Additionally, the exercises can be accommodated to cater to both physical and cognitive levels.
To provide a better understanding of the solutions, idsMED Field Solutions Specialist, Ms. Catherine Wong gave a detailed presentation during a talk to the seniors about the advantages of the SilverFit 3D virtual rehabilitation system.
idsMED Singapore’s exhibit, SilverFit 3D, captured the most attention from passers-by around the area with its interesting games. Seniors and caregivers alike were immersed in the various types of games available, grinning from ear to ear as they successfully completed each level.
Kudos to the entire team for their commitment to these initiatives that can bring incredible benefits to communities across Singapore!
